We've been a couple of times for Drag Queen Game Show night! The Highball is a great venue. Good drinks, nice staff and tipping is optional as it's included. (Of course we always tip anyway)
It is basically impossible to get them on the phone and reserve a room. I called and their VM was full I even messaged them on social media. Eventually after waiting on hold forever through the Alamo Draft house we were able to reserve the weird circus room. I'd recommend redesigning that room and getting rid of the creepy cow with no ears and predator eyes.
The microphones were WAY too quiet, especially because the background music would go full blast every song no matter how much we turned it down so we could actually hear the singer.
The drinks and our server were great.
The highball is a cool bar attached to Alamo drought house cinema. Bartenders were busy but served well. Music was delightful, saw Lena Luca play.
This place is so much fun. They sport a huge stage and large dance floor. I've always had a great time. Apparently, they have karaoke room. I didn't try it.
This bar is connected to Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar. It's a good place to relax before a movie.
The liquor is good quality, and I've received good service at the bar.
They have live music at times. I enjoyed it the last time I was there. They have karaoke there as well, but I can't comment on it.
Please note, the liquor quality here is nice, too, so the drinks I ordered were $15 each. This isn't a cheap 6th Street bar.
We came here on May 4th for a Star Wars event. Never had been inside. I liked the decoration and the way the stage is set up. We came with the kids right before bedtime in their pajamas. They got to see several star wars characters.
Didn't get to try the foods or the drinks but decently will come back one day. There was only one bar tender, and they're was a line to get drinks. It is understandable since it was a weekday
What a great time we had. Motown Monday was awesome. Looking forward to next time.
Danced all night to Rent Party last night! Love this band so much and I hope they have a regular slot on Highball’s calendar. I always enjoy other events at this venue too like 90’s night, Motown Monday, karaoke and trivia too. They have great drinks, yummy food, and an awesome staff. But it’s best when I also get to swing dance to such a fantastic jazz band.
